Welcome – First off, an apology. Due to an illness, the newsletter for October was not sent out.
Secondly, we are changing it up a little bit. Instead of newsletters simply giving you a review of
the month, we are going to provide upcoming events. You should now see the newsletters at
the beginning of each month. As we begin this new process for providing information, if you
have any feedback, please contact Bill Bagshaw.
November’s ride:
The November ride we spent two days in Green River UT. On Friday the first day of our
adventure we left the staging area with 35 machines. We rode Backmaster Draw and the
surrounding area. The scenery was quite breath taking and the weather was great. Everyone
reported having a great day.
Saturday morning, we left the staging area with 31 machines. Unfortunately, we experienced
two machines having issues. We rode from Floy Wash to the ghost town of Sego. Again, the
weather was good, and everyone reported having a great ride. After our ride we hosted the
Club BBQ. The BBQ was a success, everyone had an opportunity to socialize and share
experiences from our Green River adventure.
Coming in December:
As most of you are aware we held our first two-year election last month. The votes have been
tallied and the new Officers/Board Members have been notified. Our President will announce
the results at our Christmas Party.
We are hosting the Christmas Party on Saturday December 11, 2021 @ 7:00 PM. We will be
exchanging “White Elephant” gifts. If you would like to participate, please purchase a gift no
more than, $20.00 to exchange per person.
With some restrictions in place the Club will be hosting a Sub for Seniors event. In past years
the event has been highly successful. Due to COVID we were unable to host this event last year
(2020). This year when it was announced, we received overwhelming support from our Club
members. For those not familiar with the event, a retirement/care center for Seniors is
selected.
The residents often spend the holidays alone and rarely receive gifts or personal contact. Our
members select names from a provided list. The seniors have been asked to select three items
that they would like to receive. Oftentimes the needs are items such as, socks, slippers, misc
clothing items. Some request books and magazines that they can share with the others.
For those that have participated they have reported this being a highly fulfilling event. For
those that have contributed we would like to thank you for your support. Its due to the
charitable members of this Club that has made our Club such an amazing organization.
December is the one month of the year we do not plan a ride. It is however the month that
your elected officials begin requesting your input for the coming years rides. If you have
suggestions, please contact a member of the Board, or make suggestions on the Facebook
page. Your suggestions are used at the January Board meeting to set the ride calendar for the
years. January’s ride has not been planned yet, please watch the website for ride information.
We would like to thank those that participated with the election and those that complete the
year end survey. The Club will continue to get better and more involved with the information
you provide. We look forward to another year full of adventures and great times. As always,
once the rides are planned, they will be posted in the event section of our website, If the ride or
staging area changes for any reason, we will provide as much notice as possible.
Please continue to RSVP in the events on the website for every ride. We have made a change to
the RSVP on our website. Now you have two options. We have recently learned that there are
people that do not attend the BBQ. To accommodate those that don’t attend the BBQ we have
added a second option to RSVP for the ride. The first Option should be utilized if you are
planning on attending the BBQ. We would like to remind you that when you RSVP for the BBQ,
it is for how many members are in your party. The people count is critical to ensure that we
have enough food for everyone at the BBQ (post ride). We would also encourage you to bring a
side dish to share and provide some variety to our BBQ’s. The second option is simply to RSVP
that you are planning on attending, this will be for machine count.
There will be no monthly club meeting will be held in December. For December, the Christmas
Party at Edge Powersports on December 11th will count as our Club meeting. We will hold our
next Club Meeting in January at the Edge. Please watch for additional information on the
website and Facebook.
Please continue to watch the website for our Sponsor of the Month. The Sponsor of the Month
will be offering amazing deals for our Club Members. To take advantage of these deals you will
be required to show your membership card. If you have not received your card, please contact
the Club Secretary to obtain your card.
Ride for Life Committee
Hello, not much to report currently. As we approach the holidays and begin to create
assignments for the RFL committee members if you are interested in helping with the event,
please contact Lora Jaterka. Some years we have an overwhelming response to requests for
assistance and we cannot utilize everyone. If this occurs, please don’t take it personally. We are
usually able to find a project for anyone that would like to be involved.
PIO/Web Team Committee
Hello everyone on behalf of the web team Bill, Kyle and Randy we would like to thank everyone
for a very fun year, we rode in some really great places like Moab, Mexican Hat & Escalante.
And we rode in some diverse weather like cold and snowy in Vernon with wind and rain on The
Ride for Life (was a nice change from the 100+ degrees we usually have) to monsoon rains in
Panguitch to just plain beautiful days in Moab & Mexican Hat. We have a great group of folks
that come ride with us from all over the country that says a lot for our club.
We hope you all have a great Holiday season, stay safe and hope to see you all at the Holiday
Dinner.
Ride Coordinator Committee
Hey everyone. With no December ride, and January’s ride not discussed yet, we have no
upcoming ride information to share. We hope that the efforts of our committee have been
helpful to our members throughout the year. If you have any ideas to helps us provide better
information, please contact any Board member. We want to wish you a happy and safe holiday
season. We look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Party.
Safety Committee
Hello everyone,
Dan here with the safety crew. This month we had a great ride in Green River, everyone had a
great time. The weather was perfect, thank you for riding with us. We had a couple of safety
issues. First, it’s always a good idea when riding in your SXS’s, to wear your seat belt and/or
harness. With or without doors on your SXS. You never know what may happen! Second, always
before the ride please take a moment to walk around your bike and inspect it. Look around it
and check it out. We had a couple bikes that didn’t make the second day because of issues that
were caught by walking around a checking their machines.
Recreation Committee
Happy holiday season. As you should be aware the recreation committee has planned a
Christmas party. We hope to see you all there. We have also planned the Sub for Seniors event.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to some exciting events next year and welcome
any suggestions.
Welcoming Committee
Please welcome Bob & Valma Stafford and Tony & Barbara Johnson to the Utah ATV Club! We
look forward to getting to know you and making fun new memories! Enjoy this holiday season
with family and friends! The rides will start up again in January 2022.
Merchandising Committee
As the colder months are approaching, we would welcome and suggestions for cold weather
merchandise that you would be interested in. We do offer sweatshirts, due to lead time please
order right away so that you will have something warm to wear as the weather is changing. We
have been looking at light weather jacket options. This has been quite the task due to issues
with vendors. Please be patient as we try to get a new products for you. As always if you have
suggestions, please contact Bill Bagshaw.
