Welcome – We hope your holiday season was enjoyable. But the time to eat treats and spend
time indoors is over. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on the trails. Your newly
elected board will be meeting this month to plan the ride schedule for the year. We would like
to thank everyone for their suggestions. All the great suggestions we received will help in
scheduling our rides. Please keep in mind that we cannot plan every ride suggested, if there is
something that you have strong feelings about, please contact a member of the board.
A quick recap of December. We held our annual Christmas Party. Everyone that attended
appeared to be in great spirits and good health. The white elephant exchange was fun, and the
socializing was priceless. There was a mistake on a couple of meals, and we sincerely apologize
for the inconvenience.
We also hosted a Sub for Seniors. Your donations and efforts to participate in this event had a
truly inspiring affect on the residents. Some of the seniors stated that this was the best
Christmas that they can remember. It was so touching I was told at least one senior was
opening crying with joy and appreciation. A letter was sent from the seniors to our club. It can
be found on our social media pages. We take great pride in our Club and all the support from
our members. A heart felt thank you to each and every one of you.
A message from Karen Sommer:
I just wanted to thank everyone for allowing me to serve as the treasurer these past four years.
I enjoyed working with the board and other officers. I will miss the responsibilities and working
together, but I guess it’s time to move on.
We would like to thank Karen and the other board members for their work during their tenure.
JANUARY RIDE
For January we WILL NOT BE HOSTING A BBQ. The plan is to ride 5-mile pass to Eureka where
we will break for lunch at B’s (bring cash and a credit card just in case). As us experienced
riders know the trail conditions can vary drastically, from dry to muddy and covered in snow.
Please plan accordingly. You can find staging and ride details on the website soon.
Please continue to RSVP in the events on the website for every ride. To accommodate those
that don’t attend the BBQ we have added a second option to RSVP for the ride. The first Option
should be utilized if you are planning on attending the BBQ. We would like to remind you that
when you RSVP for the BBQ, it is for how many members are in your party. The people count is
critical to ensure that we have enough food for everyone at the BBQ (post ride). We would also
encourage you to bring a side dish to share and provide some variety to our BBQ’s. The second
option is simply to RSVP that you are planning on attending, this will be for machine count.
Please continue to watch the website for our Sponsor of the Month. The Sponsor of the Month
will be offering amazing deals for our Club Members. To take advantage of these deals you will
be required to show your membership card. If you have not received your card, please contact
the Club Secretary to obtain your card.
Ride for Life Committee
Hello, not much to report currently. As we end our holiday season, we are about to kick our
charitable efforts into high gear. We have started the assignments for the RFL committee
members if you are interested in helping with the event, please contact Lora Jaterka. Some
years we have an overwhelming response to requests for assistance and we cannot utilize
everyone. If this occurs, please don’t take it personally. We are usually able to find a project for
anyone that would like to be involved.
