Hello everyone. We hope that you and your families are happy and healthy and able to get out and enjoy the nice weather we’re having. Recreating outdoors is a great way to social distance and get some relief from being cooped up for so long due to the virus. We encourage people to get out and help support the various businesses and tourist towns that have taken a financial hit with the lockdown that occurred.
We are finally able to have a regular club meeting again so on Monday June 8th at 7pm we will meet at Edge Powersports. At this meeting we will be programming radios with the new channels at the merchandise table. Please try to come a little early if you have a radio to be programmed. Have your radio marked with your name and drop it off at the table. Just a reminder, we will be selling raffle tickets. All ride raffle ticket sales go towards the total for RFL that gets donated to Make A Wish. We still have hats, t-shirts, hoodies, flags, red RTIC 30 oz mugs and club logo stickers for sale. Go to our website utahatv.com and click on the CLUB STORE to see what’s available. We are back to planning the Ride For Life. More detailed information will be out very soon. Be sure to get your applications filled out and sent in. We intend to make it the best event possible despite the crazy events that have taken place this year.
The kids are counting on us!! The June club ride at Current Creek Res. to Upper Stillwater Dam will be on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Be unloaded and ready to ride by 10am. Take hwy 40 east of Heber past Strawberry Reservoir. Take Current Creek turn off. Continue past the dam. There will be a turn off on the right and that’s where staging will be. Bring a lunch & drinks for out on the trail. We will have our after ride burgers and hot dogs BBQ. Everyone is welcome to join. Feel free to bring a side if you’d like.
The July club ride will be a 2 day ride on July 17-18 in Manti. You can come both days or 1 day, whatever works best for you. If you plan on camping or staying in a motel you may want to get reservations ASAP if you haven’t already. We will be staging at Temple Hill Resort RV Park. We had a great turnout for the May club ride in Kanab. A lot of people were riding in the area but there are so many trails to ride that we rarely came across others.
We rode Friday and Saturday. Several people camped while others stayed in various motels around town. The weather was fabulous and everyone had such a good time. Friday we did approximately 40 miles. We stopped at the Peekaboo trailhead, Belly of the Dragon and the Barracks trail. We crossed the east fork of the Virgin River several times on the way out and back. Splashing in the water helped cool us off. Saturday was around 60 miles and we explored the Moccasin Mountain Dinosaur Tracksite, Elephant Cove and Warriors Walk, which overlooks part of Zions.
We were going to the Maildrop but ran out of time. So much to see, so little time. They were all such beautiful sites. On Saturday we had our BBQ after the ride. Thank you to everyone that brought a dish to share and a big thank you to our cooks and servers that made sure everything was safe and sanitary.
It was a good time with friends and fellow riding enthusiasts. It was great to see everyone again. It has certainly been a strange situation this year. If anyone has questions or concerns about any of our events please reach out to a board member and we will get you answers. We do our best to keep our Facebook page and website up to date for you.
We want to apologize for having to cancel the meet and greet event we originally had scheduled for June 6th. The current directive wouldn’t let us gather in groups over 50 and we know there would have been many more people than allowed. We will be looking into rescheduling at a later date. We’ll keep you posted. We hope to see you out on the trails. Ride safe and have fun!! Come ride with us!
