Welcome – we hope February treated everyone well. This month we held our second ride of the
year. We staged at Vernon and then rode approximately 38 miles. This was a great turn out,
with 27 machines. Although several people ended up getting stuck and we had to turn around
multiple times due to snow, it was a wet muddy fun mess. Everyone reported having a good
time. Unfortunately, due to high winds we were not able to host our post ride BBQ. We hope
this was not a huge inconvenience for our riders.
As most of you are aware Moab and SB168 has been a hot topic this month. While everyone
has their own opinion on this matter, The Utah ATV Association remains politically neutral. We
do however encourage all our members to contact their senators. We believe that the only way
democracy can prevail is to remind our elected officials that they work for us, they are our voice
in these matters, and they can be replaced. It is simply inappropriate for them to vote based on
their opinions of the subject matter, or how their vote can be used to further their own
agendas. We will continue to encourage all of you to contact your representatives in matters
that affect our sport.
Next month we will be riding in Moab. If you have not made your reservations, we encourage
you to do so right away. You can always cancel if you decide later not to attend. Although
SB168 was stalled, we as a Club need to be good ambassadors. We want to continue to set the
example. When riding in town or to a trail head, please turn off your whips and other
unnecessary lights. Keep your stereos and a respectful level and help us prove to the citizens of
Moab that we do understand their concerns. Please keep in mind that all rides are subject to
change (Covid-19, weather, etc). If a ride is changed for any reason, we will provide as much
notice as possible.
Our new website has already proven to be very successful. We have made several sales of Club
merchandise and had numerous people register for the Ride for Life. We will continue to
encourage you to RSVP in the events on the website for every ride. We would like to remind
you that when you RSVP, it is for how many members in your party. The machine count is
helpful for planning our route, but the people count is critical to ensure that we have enough
food for everyone at the BBQ (post ride).
As a reminder, until further notice, monthly Club meetings will be held via Facebook live. Once
we can have an in-person meetings, we will give you as much notice as possible for those
members that would like to attend. But again, no “in-person” meetings are planned for the
foreseeable future. Watch the Club’s website and/or Facebook for the Facebook live times and
other information.
Ride for Life Committee
Hey y’all
We would like to introduce our 2021 ambassador.
His name is Steele, he is 8 years old and has been diagnosed with cancer.
Y’all may remember the UTV parade we did a few months back for him past his house. That was
for his last chemo treatment. He is one tuff 8-year-old.
You can sign up for the ride on Utahatv.com and pay via PayPal.
We have been given a green light for the Nugget in Wendover and they are telling me that we
will be able to use the conference center. As soon as we can get the discount code for the
room’s we will let everyone know.
I have been contacted by another media station who want to do a story about the Ride.
It’s never too early to start collecting raffle prizes and donations.
Keep watching the webpage, Facebook and Instagram for any updates.
PIO/Web Team Committee
What the PIO GROUP has been up to this month:
We were able to get the web page store organized. We have added new trailer sized stickers to
the club store (40”x20”) if you are interested in purchasing one for the back of your trailer.
What better advertisement.
We worked with the safety committee to schedule a radio programming day on Saturday,
February 27th at the Edge for those needing help programming their radios.
Learning all the cool things our webpage can do for us. We set up a separate RFL app online for
Search & Rescue and made a separate app to be downloaded. We have also updated the web
page with our own pictures so it’s really coming together and showcasing our own adventures.
We got a letter written to send to businesses that want to join our Facebook page.
We have been busy approving new members. Remember, if you invite friends to join our page,
please have them accept our rules. In February we had to decline almost 30 people because of
this.
When you RSVP to a ride make sure to click on the total number of people in your party
including yourself. The system does not automatically add you.
Ride Coordinator Committee

Safety Committee
It’s the safety crew. Hope all is well and we are glad everyone that went on the February ride
was safe and had a great time. With that being said, we would like you to take a few minutes
and go thru “your” storage boxes or bags on your machines. Also make sure you have needed
items for the changing weather in it. Like extra gloves thick and thin, Rain jackets and or
poncho, Dry clothes and socks and a heavy and a light jacket. and a beanie hat.
we as a club will be offering beanie hats for sale on the website with the club name on them.
They would make a great addition to your bag.
Remember to put you spare clothing in a waterproof bag, that will help you as well.
Recreation Committee
The recreation committee is currently working on a poker run. We are working out the details.
We expect to have the details laid out soon. We will provide as much information as soon as
possible. We are also planning on a gaming event. It will be held at one of our planned camping
trips. This event will encourage social mingling and we believe it will be fun. We realize this is
vague information, please keep watching the websites and newsletters for additional
information.
Fundraising Committee
The fundraising committee is getting a slow start. Our goal is to identify ways to fund Club
needs. We are working with the Recreation Committee to plan a “poker run” with prizes. Please
watch for updates.

Merchandising Committee
Hello all. We are excited to announce that we will now be offering a Club beanie hat. We have a
limited quantity to gage the interest. They beanies are simple and clean. Option one is a Black
beanie with “UTAH ATV” embroidered with red letters. Option two is a Gray beanie with “UTAH
ATV” embroidered with black letters. We are working with a goal of offering a new product
each month. We are also planning on having our inventory available after each club ride. We
are hoping that by making it easier for our members to access our Club’s products you will be
more inclined to purchase and wear your club SWAG. If any member has an idea of a product
that they would like us to look at, please contact Bill Bagshaw.
